Bassey Simon
Creator & Host, The NADvigators Podcast

Hello—and welcome to The NADvigators Podcast community.

I’d love to tell your story.
Yes… your story.

Because you have one.

I’d be honored to spend 60–75 minutes with you capturing your NADvigating journey—your experiences, lessons, pivots, and perspective—as part of a growing archive of modern-day explorers shaping the American experience.

This is more than an interview.
It’s an opportunity to build a legacy, preserve your voice, and add your story to something that will outlive all of us.

If you’re ready, click “Ready to Tell Your Story” to get started.

I’ll personally reach out to schedule a time and answer any questions you may have.

I look forward to hearing from you.

THE WHY OF THE NADVIGATORS PODCAST & NADCAST

Are You a NADvigator?

Short answer?
Probably.

You’re a NADvigator if you are:

  • An immigrant to the United States within the past 50+ years
  • A first-generation immigrant who arrived in the U.S. as an adult (18+)
  • An American-born NADvigator — the first-generation children of immigrants

If any of that sounds familiar… welcome. You’re in the right room.

The NADvigator Challenge (a.k.a. Why This Podcast Exists)

Here’s a hard truth most immigrants share:

Almost all of us start our American journey with partial information.

We learn how to “survive America” from:

  • One host family
  • One relative
  • One friend who arrived earlier
  • Or one well-meaning but incomplete source

Some people get lucky and land inside a supportive community.
Many don’t.

The Single Story Syndrome

What happens next is something I call the single-story syndrome—when your entire understanding of America is shaped by one narrow experience. Over time, that single story quietly kills broader knowledge and leads to misdirection, fragmented information, and dreams that never quite materialize—not because of lack of effort, but lack of perspective.

NADCast exists to break that cycle.

NADCast & The NADvigator Nation

The goal of NADCast is simple but powerful:
Give immigrants—new and seasoned—the advantage of learning from many stories, not just one.

This platform brings together the lived experiences of:

  • People who succeeded
  • People who struggled
  • People who failed, pivoted, and rebuilt

Because all of it matters.

By pooling these stories, we help:

  • Recent immigrants
  • Longtime immigrants still stuck
  • And first-generation American-born children

learn faster, avoid unnecessary pain, and build smarter paths forward.

And yes—beyond interviews, I’ll occasionally bring in experts to break down real-life skills: home ownership, credit, education transitions, career pivots, and the many “nobody-tells-you-this” moments of immigrant life.

About Me (The Human Behind the Mic)

Let me be clear: I’m a regular guy who genuinely loves people.

I love history—especially how it shapes who we are and why we do what we do. If you ever wonder why I ask reflective questions… that’s why. My favorite movies are documentaries and reality shows. (Yes, I know. That explains a lot.)

I’m fascinated by human experience—how we’re all connected in this long, messy, beautiful circle of life. Helping people with useful information genuinely brings me joy. Books? Love them. Biographies? Even better.

And yes… I’m a podcast addict.

I picked this addiction because it’s cheaper than therapy and slightly more socially acceptable. I try to manage it. Keyword: try.

Why This Isn’t About Me

You’ll probably hear my story at some point.
Just not yet.

This platform isn’t about me—it’s about us.

Modern-day explorers. Quiet builders. NADvigators.

My role is to listen, guide, and help surface the stories that deserve to be told. For now, enjoy the ride as we dive into the lives of incredible guests—four fresh, never-before-heard stories every month—filled with courage, triumphs, failures, and everything in between.

I believe we’re building something lasting here. Something meaningful.
